Motor City Blues Band
The Motor City Blues Band delivers an electrifying blend of blues, rock, and soulful vocals to stages across Simcoe County and beyond. Based in Barrie, Ontario, the band has built a loyal following through its dynamic stage presence, powerful guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and heartfelt performances that capture the spirit of modern blues. What sets The Motor City Blues Band apart is a commitment to pure improvisation. Classic blues and rock material the audience knows by heart is deconstructed and rebuilt in the moment — no song is ever performed the same way twice. It’s an approach built on musical telepathy, big risks, and what frontman Derek Atherton calls “musical bravery”: chasing those moments on stage when the band locks in, exchanges a knowing smile, and creates something together that didn’t exist five seconds earlier. The result is energetic grooves, fiery solos, and spontaneous energy that keeps every show fresh and one of a kind.
